Float the grande Ronde River

Park your car in Troy. We'll shuttle you and your rented gear upriver to Powwatka Bridge. From there, it's all downriver — paddle the canyon at your own pace and pull out right where you started.

No shuttle car to arrange. No gear to haul from home. Just show up and go.

How it works: Grande ronde river self-guided float

MAKE A RESERVATION: Book online (see below) at least 24 hours in advance

START IN TROY: Come to our headquarters to get your gear, hear a safety talk, and catch the shuttle

SHUTTLE TO POWWATKA: Take our shuttle 7.2 miles up river to Powwatka Bridge

LAUNCH: Enjoy a leisurely, 3-4 hour float down the Grande Ronde River

END YOUR FLOAT: Finish your float at the confluence of the Wenaha and Grande Ronde Rivers in Troy. Pull off on river-left underneath the bridge.

Rental Includes

  • Packraft (essentially an inflatable kayak)

  • PFD (life jacket)

  • Paddle

  • Repair kit

  • Shuttle: Troy to Powwatka Bridge

Pricing

  • $75 per person, shuttle included

WAIVER AND DAMAGE POLICY

All renters must sign a waiver and rental agreement before departure. If a packraft requires repair after your trip, the cost of materials and labor will be billed to the renter.
